When Can I Start?

Any time of the year!
At LifeArt Academy, there’s no need to wait for a new term or group intake. Each student receives individualized guidance and personal attention, so you can begin your creative journey whenever it suits you. Whether you’re diving in today or next month, your learning path will be tailored to your pace, goals, and experience.

How Many Classes Can I Take Per Week?

The average is 1 class per week, which works beautifully for most students.
But you’re welcome to attend as many classes as you’d like—your learning journey is entirely flexible. Just keep in mind that your monthly cost will adjust based on the number of sessions you choose.

How Long Is Each Class?

Each class runs for 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to dive deep into your creative process.
That said, you’re always welcome to come and go as you please—we understand that life (and inspiration) doesn’t always run on a strict schedule.

Which Days Are The Classes On?

Painting Monday from 6 pm – 9 pm
Painting Wednesdays from 10 am – 1 pm
Painting Fridays from 9.30 am – 12.30 pm

Do I Need Previous Experience?

Not at all.
LifeArt School welcomes absolute beginners as well as experienced artists looking to deepen their skills.

What Happens If I Miss A Class?

No worries—missed classes can be made up!
If you miss a session (say, a Monday painting class), you’re welcome to reschedule for another day, like Friday—depending on seating availability.
Just be sure to contact the teacher ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

Please note:
Make-up classes must be taken within the same calendar year. Unfortunately, they cannot be carried over to the next year.

Can A Missed Clas Be Refunded?

No, missed classes are not refundable and cannot be deducted from the following month’s payment.
However, you’re welcome to make up the missed class on an alternative date (subject to availability).

If rescheduling isn’t possible, the class will unfortunately be forfeited.
We appreciate your understanding—it helps us keep the studio running smoothly for everyone.

How Do I Pay?

Monthly invoices are sent between the 15th and 20th of each month, covering the following month’s lessons.

Payment is due by the 30th of the current month to secure your spot for the next.
LifeArt School is a small, independent business, and timely payments are essential to cover ongoing costs like rent, water, and electricity.
Late payments can disrupt operations and jeopardize the continuation of the school—so we truly appreciate your support and punctuality.

Please note:
We do not offer a “pay-as-you-go” option. All lessons are billed monthly

What About Late Payments?

All payments must reflect in the LifeArt School account by the 30th of each month.
This deadline ensures we can meet essential business costs and continue providing a high-quality learning environment.

Late Payment Policy:
Payments not received by the 30th will incur a 10% late fee.
Students who consistently pay late will receive up to three written warnings.
After the third warning, the student will be asked to leave at the end of that month.
No exceptions will be made. These policies apply to all students equally.
LifeArt School is a small, independent business.

Every payment directly supports rent, utilities, and studio upkeep.

Late payments don’t just affect admin—they jeopardize the continuation of the school and impact the entire creative community.

We appreciate your understanding and commitment to keeping LifeArt thriving.

What Happens When The Teacher Gets Sick?

Teachers are allowed up to 2 sick days per class group per year, which amounts to 12 days annually across all groups.
If a class is cancelled due to illness:
It will still count as part of your monthly payment
No refunds will be issued

Communication is key:
When you join, you’ll be added to a WhatsApp group for your class.
If Leonie is sick and unable to teach, she will notify everyone via the group as soon as possible.
We appreciate your understanding—occasional sick days are necessary to maintain long-term health and energy. Your support helps keep LifeArt School sustainable and thriving.

What Happens During School And Public Holidays?

Public Holidays:
LifeArt School is closed on official public holidays.
However, students are still liable for the full monthly payment, as venue costs, water, electricity, and other expenses continue regardless of closures.
Please note: No discounts are offered for public holidays or December breaks.

School Holidays:
Classes continue as usual during school holidays.

Going on Holiday?
If you plan to be away for a month or longer, you must:
Pay in advance to keep your space
Or risk losing your spot in the class
You can make up the missed classes

Important:
No spaces will be held without prior arrangement and payment.
Students may not simply stop attending. To cancel your class subscription, you must:
Give one full calendar month’s notice

What Happens During December Holidays?

LifeArt School closes for the festive season on the last Saturday of the second week of December, and reopens on the first Monday of the third week in January.

Payment Policy:
Students are still liable for the full monthly payments for December and January, as venue costs, water, electricity, and other essential expenses continue during this period.

LifeArt School does not receive discounts for public holidays or seasonal closures, so we appreciate your understanding and support.

Make-Up Classes:
Any missed classes due to the December closure will be offered as extra sessions during the following year.

What Is The Copyright Clause?

All Rights Reserved.

LEB and LAS personal and unique expressions of ideas and teaching concepts.

You may not reproduce or communicate any of the content on this website, including files and photographs downloadable from this website, without the express permission of the copyright owner.

The owners of copyright in the content on this website may receive compensation for the use of their content by educational institutions and governments, including from licensing schemes managed by Copyright Agency.

All artwork produced by the students during class time can be used by LAS and SP for marketing purposes.

We may change these terms of use from time to time. Check before re-using any content from this website.

What If I Get Hurt Or My Work Gets Damaged Or Stolen?

LifeART School and the Sole Proprietor (SP) is not responsible for any injuries, goods stolen or lost property on any of the rental properties.

LifeArt School and Studio is not responsible for any Acts of God provisions, also called “Force Majeure” clauses, relate to events outside human control, like flash floods, earthquakes, national disasters, plaques or other natural or unforeseen disaster(s).

A refund or rescheduling may (as per the discretion of the SP), still be called for, and if so decided between BOTH parties being LifeArt School SP and named student, but direct liability under the contract is not the responsibility of LifeArt School or its Sole Proprietor.

Why Is There Only One Teacher?

Because quality matters.
Leonie is the founder and sole educator at LifeArt School, holding a Fine Art Honours degree, a teaching diploma, and numerous specialized certifications.

With over 40 years of experience—spanning private commissions, corporate work, and professional art sales—she’s been teaching and mentoring artists full-time since 2004.
Her depth of knowledge, intuitive guidance, and ability to meet each student where they are is what makes LifeArt unique.

Why not hire assistants?
Leonie has tried—but students consistently felt frustrated by the lack of experience and insight from helpers.
Unlike Leonie, they couldn’t draw from decades of lived artistic practice, professional selling, and teaching mastery.

A conscious choice:
LifeArt School remains intentionally small to preserve the high standard of personal attention and expertise that Leonie offers. Growth is carefully paced to match what she can sustainably and authentically provide.

Need More Info?

I have been to many art classes, but it is not the same as this one. Leonie has the gift to teach. I have been to two other ladies who are artists. They can do wonderful work on a canvas, but they can’t transfer that knowledge that they have to their students. Here I have been taught from the beginning, even how to clean my brushes properly, to what I am busy with now.
