Registered Counselor Mignon Elliot (Registered with HPCSA and Masterclass Thesis in Psychology), and Artist Leonie.e.Brown will be teaching you coping strategies to deal with stress and anxiety.
Art therapy is primarily about the process of creating. It does not matter if the art is aesthetically pleasing (although it often is). It’s more about the many benefits that the creative process can provide.

Anyone who feels overwhelmed, debilitated or pressured by stress and anxiety should do this course. Creating art will give you a chance to slow down and explore any issues you may be having. Art therapy improves the mental health of people who are dealing with addictions, anxiety, attention disorders, grief and loss, dementia, depression, eating disorders, physical illness, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues and much more.
Since the focus is on the process and not the final product, art therapy is not about becoming a great artist but about finding meaning and connection in your life. All you need for it is a willingness to experiment.

We all draw. It’s a natural form of expression, and expressing ourselves visually is human nature. Sometimes, it’s hard for us to say things because the verbal side of your brain and the visual side of your brain are two different paths.
